In Context

At 39 mm it sits just under the modern norm — the band that suits the widest spread of wrists. At 16 mm it is very tall, and sits high off the wrist. The case back is open, so the movement is visible without taking the watch apart, and the plexiglass crystal scratches easily but polishes back out at home, which sapphire does not. Rated to 30 m, it is protected against rain and splashes and nothing beyond that.

The movement is hand-wound, so winding it becomes part of the day rather than something the watch does for you. 44 hours of reserve carries it overnight, but not through a weekend in a drawer. At 28,800 vph the seconds hand advances 8 times a second.

IW3752-10 is one of 24 executions of the IW3752 base reference. Underneath they are the same watch; what separates this one is a blue dial and a platinum case. It was a limited edition. Beyond the time it carries a tourbillon.

The 76061 is the hand-wound movement of the Da Vinci Tourbillon, made in the 1990s. It carries a chronograph, a perpetual calendar and a tourbillon on the Kurt Klaus base. It powers 32 watches in this library, every one a 39 mm Da Vinci. It takes the Valjoux 7750 architecture of the [79261](/calibers/iwc-79261), removes the rotor and adds a tourbillon at 6 o'clock beneath Klaus's calendar module, which shows the date, day, month, four-digit year and moon phase and sets from the crown alone. The result is 31 mm across with 35 jewels, a 44-hour reserve and a beat of 28,800 vph, and it is the movement of the ref 3752 and of the Quattro Stagioni set of four dial-language editions. The [7750 piece](/blog/the-valjoux-7750-family) explains the base. In the library it powers 32 [Da Vinci](/brands/iwc/da-vinci) references, in yellow, rose and white gold and platinum, and every one is a limited edition; 33 of the collection's tourbillons run it. The [79251](/calibers/iwc-79251) is the split-seconds version of the same base without the tourbillon, and the glossary defines the [tourbillon](/glossary/tourbillon) and the [perpetual calendar](/glossary/perpetual-calendar).

31 other watches in the library run the IWC 76061.
