Corrections to the catalogue

This is the most useful mail we get. The catalogue is normalised from many sources into one schema, and that process is where mistakes survive — a transposed reference number, a production year that ended earlier than we have it, a calibre attributed to the wrong generation.

To make a correction quick to verify, please include:

  • the page URL, or the exact reference number;
  • the field that is wrong and what it should say;
  • where your version comes from, if you can — a manufacturer document, an archive extract, or a photograph of the piece is ideal.

We check corrections against the source before changing anything, so a citation moves it along considerably faster than an assertion.

What we cannot help with

We are a reference library, not a dealer, an auction house, or a service centre. We do not buy, sell, broker, or repair watches, and we hold no inventory.

We also cannot authenticate a watch or appraise one. We have no way to examine a piece, and a reference database is the wrong instrument for both jobs — for authentication, go to the manufacturer or a recognised specialist.

Advertising and partnerships

Advertising enquiries are welcome at the general address above. Note that placement is deliberately sparse and we do not sell editorial coverage, catalogue placement, or result ordering — see About for how the site is funded.

Privacy, data, and account requests

For access, correction, deletion, or portability requests relating to your personal information, or any question about how we handle data, write to brainspicks@gmail.com. You can also delete your account yourself at any time from your account settings. Our Privacy Policy sets out the detail.
