About the Omega Railmaster

The 1957 CK2914 was one of three professional Omegas launched together, with the Seamaster 300 and the Speedmaster, and its job was to resist 1,000 gauss with a soft-iron inner case. It was discontinued in 1963. The 2003 revival put the 2403, the co-axial 2500 without its date, in 39.2 mm and 42.2 mm cases, with a 36.2 mm version and the 49.2 mm Railmaster XXL on the hand-wound 2201, a Unitas-based movement in a case that size. The 2017 Railmaster returned in the Trilogy for the sixtieth anniversary at 38 mm and as a 40 mm on the 8806, whose Master Chronometer certification answers the original brief at 15,000 gauss without a cage.

The 2403 powers 14 references, the 8806 10, the 2201 5, and the chronographs on the 3205 and 3313 6. The 42.2 mm and 39.2 mm cases account for 9 references each, the 38 mm and 40 mm for 6 each, and the XXL for 5. Steel is the material of 29 cases and yellow gold of 6. Black dials lead at 25. Water resistance is 150 m on 36 references, and 10 are limited editions.

The Aqua Terra is the dated watch on the same platform, the Seamaster 300 and Speedmaster its two 1957 siblings, and the glossary covers the Master Chronometer standard.
