In Context

At 44 mm it is a large watch — well above this catalogue’s 40 mm median, and enough to dominate a narrow wrist. The case back is closed, so the movement stays out of sight, and the sapphire crystal will resist everything short of deliberate abuse. 300 m is a professional diving rating, far past any demand a wrist is likely to make of it.

The movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. 52 hours of reserve is enough to set it down on Friday evening and find it still running on Monday. At 28,800 vph the seconds hand advances 8 times a second.

212.30.44.50.03.001 stands on its own in this catalogue — no other reference here shares its base number. It pairs a blue dial with a stainless steel case. Beyond the time it carries a chronograph.

The 3330 is a co-axial column-wheel chronograph built on the Longines L688, itself an ETA A08.L01, and fitted with a silicon balance spring. It powers 55 watches in this library, most of them Speedmasters. ETA developed the A08 as a column-wheel chronograph on the 7750's footprint, and Omega's version adds the co-axial escapement and the Si14 silicon balance spring, with 31 jewels, a 52-hour reserve and a beat of 28,800 vph, at 30 mm across and 7.9 mm high. It is COSC-certified. It sits below the in-house [9300](/calibers/omega-9300) in the range and above the older 7750-based chronographs. In the library it sits under 48 [Speedmaster](/brands/omega/speedmaster-automatic-quartz) references, the Speedmaster Racing 40 of 2012, the Speedmaster 38 of 2017 and the Mark II reissue of 2014, and 7 [Seamaster Diver 300M](/brands/omega/seamaster-diver-300m) chronographs at 44 mm, including the Regatta. The 38 mm case accounts for 30 references and the 40 mm for 14. The [Valjoux 7750 piece](/blog/the-valjoux-7750-family) explains the layout the A08 was designed to match, and the [9900](/calibers/omega-9900) is the Master Chronometer chronograph above it.

54 other watches in the library run the Omega 3330.
