In Context

At 41.5 mm it is sized to the current mainstream: 40 mm is the median across every watch measured in this catalogue. The case back is closed, so the movement stays out of sight, and the sapphire crystal will resist everything short of deliberate abuse. 300 m is a professional diving rating, far past any demand a wrist is likely to make of it.

The movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. 55 hours of reserve is enough to set it down on Friday evening and find it still running on Monday. At 28,800 vph the seconds hand advances 8 times a second.

2993.50.91 stands on its own in this catalogue — no other reference here shares its base number. It pairs a black dial with a titanium case. Beyond the time it carries a chronograph.

The 3303 is the first of Omega's Piguet-based column-wheel chronographs. It is a Frédéric Piguet 1285 finished and certified by Omega, before the co-axial escapement was added. It powers 23 watches in this library. The 1285 is the 1185 architecture, a column wheel and a vertical clutch in a thin movement, enlarged for Omega; the [Piguet piece](/blog/the-frederic-piguet-1185-the-thin-chronograph-under-three-maisons) traces it. The 3303 runs at 28,800 vph with a 55-hour reserve and 33 jewels at 27 mm across, and it is a COSC chronometer. The [3313](/calibers/omega-3313) added the co-axial escapement and became the standard; the [3301](/calibers/omega-3301) is the same movement with plainer decoration. In the library it powers 17 [Speedmaster Broad Arrow](/brands/omega/speedmaster-broad-arrow) references at 42 mm and 6 [Seamaster Diver 300M](/brands/omega/seamaster-diver-300m) chronographs at 41.5 mm. The [3603](/calibers/omega-3603) and [3612](/calibers/omega-3612) are the GMT and split-seconds versions of the same family.

22 other watches in the library run the Omega 3303.
