About the Omega 8701

The 8700 was introduced with the Constellation Manhattan of 2018 to bring the full METAS specification to the 27 mm and 29 mm cases: the co-axial escapement, a silicon balance spring on a free-sprung balance, resistance to 15,000 gauss, bidirectional winding and a 50-hour reserve at 25,200 vph. The 8701 changes only the rotor and the balance bridge, which are made in Sedna gold, Omega's own red gold alloy, so the movement matches the case through the display back.

Every reference here is a Constellation Manhattan 29 in Sedna gold or two-tone, 38 in all, most with diamond bezels and mother-of-pearl dials. The 8807 and 8521 follow the same gold-rotor convention in the larger cases.
