The 3156 is the Day-Date II movement of 2008 to 2015. It is the 3155's day-and-date mechanism with a Parachrom hairspring and, for the first time in a Rolex, Paraflex shock absorbers. It powers 17 watches in this library, every one a 41 mm Day-Date II.

About the Rolex 3156
It has 31 jewels, a 48-hour reserve and a beat of 28,800 vph at 28.5 mm across, with the day and date both quick-set, and every one is a COSC chronometer. Paraflex, Rolex's own shock absorber, debuted here and spread to the rest of the range.
In the library it powers all 17 Day-Date II references, in white gold, platinum, yellow gold and Everose. The Day-Date 40 of 2015, on the 3255, replaced the watch and the movement together.
The 3155 is the 36 mm Day-Date's version of the same movement, and the 3136 its Datejust II counterpart with a date alone.
