In Context

At 42 mm it is sized to the current mainstream: 40 mm is the median across every watch measured in this catalogue. At 12.2 mm it is a tall case, and it will catch on a cuff. The case back is closed, so the movement stays out of sight, and the sapphire crystal will resist everything short of deliberate abuse.

The movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. Its 38-hour reserve wants wearing most days; leave it off and it stops. At 28,800 vph the seconds hand advances 8 times a second.

15130BC.ZZ.8042BC.01 stands on its own in this catalogue — no other reference here shares its base number. It pairs a paved dial with a white gold case. It was a limited edition.

The 2325 is Audemars Piguet's version of the Jaeger-LeCoultre 889 automatic with a date, the movement of the Millenary of the 2000s. It powers 21 watches in this library. The 889 was the thin automatic base Jaeger-LeCoultre supplied to several maisons before Audemars Piguet built its own, and the 2325 carries it with a 21-carat gold rotor on ceramic ball bearings, 32 jewels, a beat of 28,800 vph and a 38-hour reserve at 26.5 mm across. It was also the base of the [2326/2840](/calibers/audemars-piguet-ap-2326-2840) chronograph of the Royal Oak Offshore. In the library it powers 14 [Millenary](/brands/audemars-piguet/millenary) Self-Winding references, the 39.5 mm oval in yellow, pink and white gold, and 7 [Royal Oak Offshore](/brands/audemars-piguet/royal-oak-offshore) references at 42 mm. 7 are limited editions. The [3120](/calibers/audemars-piguet-ap-3120) is the in-house automatic that replaced the Jaeger-LeCoultre bases from 2003, and the [5201](/calibers/audemars-piguet-ap-5201) the hand-wound movement of the later 39.5 mm Millenary.

20 other watches in the library run the Audemars Piguet AP 2325.
