In Context

At 41 mm it is sized to the current mainstream: 40 mm is the median across every watch measured in this catalogue. At 10.4 mm thick it is about average for a modern wristwatch. The case back is open, so the movement is visible without taking the watch apart, and the sapphire crystal will resist everything short of deliberate abuse. 50 m covers rain and hand-washing comfortably; it is not a watch to swim in.

The movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. 65 hours of reserve is enough to set it down on Friday evening and find it still running on Monday. At 21,600 vph the seconds hand advances 6 times a second, the slower and more audible rate of an older design.

26532IC.EE.1220TI.01 stands on its own in this catalogue — no other reference here shares its base number. It pairs a green dial with a titanium, white gold case. It was a limited edition. Introduced in 2020. Beyond the time it carries a tourbillon.

The self-winding flying tourbillon of the Code 11.59 line, with the carriage exposed at six o'clock. A flying tourbillon is cantilevered — supported only from beneath, with no upper bridge — so the cage appears to turn unsupported. The 3 Hz beat is the usual choice for a tourbillon: a slower balance asks less of the rotating cage and of the mainspring driving it.

41 other watches in the library run the Audemars Piguet AP 2950.
