In Context

At 41 mm it is sized to the current mainstream: 40 mm is the median across every watch measured in this catalogue. At 9.5 mm thick it is about average for a modern wristwatch. The case back is open, so the movement is visible without taking the watch apart, and the sapphire crystal will resist everything short of deliberate abuse. Rated to 20 m, it is protected against rain and splashes and nothing beyond that.

The movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. 40 hours of reserve carries it overnight, but not through a weekend in a drawer.

26579CB.OO.1225CB.01 stands on its own in this catalogue — no other reference here shares its base number. It pairs a blue dial with a titanium, ceramic case. Introduced in 2019. Beyond the time it carries a perpetual calendar.

The 5134 is the ultra-thin perpetual calendar of the Royal Oak, introduced in 2015 for the 41 mm ref 26574. It powers 33 watches in this library, every one a 41 mm perpetual calendar. It puts a [perpetual calendar](/glossary/perpetual-calendar) with a moon phase, a week indicator and a leap-year display on an extra-thin base of 29 mm and 4.31 mm, with a suspended barrel and a rotor guided by a peripheral ring running on four ruby rollers rather than a central bearing. The moon phase is laser-etched on a disc of aventurine. It has 38 jewels and beats at 19,800 vph for a 40-hour reserve. In the library it powers 30 [Royal Oak](/brands/audemars-piguet/royal-oak) references, the 26574 in steel, pink gold, white gold, ceramic and titanium and the 26614 in the same case, and 3 [CODE 11.59](/brands/audemars-piguet/code-11-59) perpetual calendars. 17 of the 33 are limited editions. The [2120/2802](/calibers/audemars-piguet-ap-2120-2802) is the perpetual calendar on the older ultra-thin 2120 base it succeeded, and the [3120](/calibers/audemars-piguet-ap-3120) the three-hand movement of the same Royal Oak generation.

32 other watches in the library run the Audemars Piguet AP 5134.
