In Context

At 42 mm it is sized to the current mainstream: 40 mm is the median across every watch measured in this catalogue. At 15.2 mm it is a tall case, and it will catch on a cuff. The case back is open, so the movement is visible without taking the watch apart, and the sapphire crystal will resist everything short of deliberate abuse. 60 m covers rain and hand-washing comfortably; it is not a watch to swim in.

The movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. 46 hours of reserve carries it overnight, but not through a weekend in a drawer. At 28,800 vph the seconds hand advances 8 times a second.

IW3807-04 is one of 4 executions of the IW3807 base reference. Underneath they are the same watch; what separates this one is a silver dial and a stainless steel case. It was a limited edition. Beyond the time it carries a chronograph.

The IW3807 family

Self-winding chronograph movement with date introduced in 2016. The total power reserve is 46 hours. Another feature is an automatic pawl winding system. This entry was previously listed as being based on 7750; after contact with IWC, we have removed this as according to IWC these movements do not have the same parts, same specifications or even same dimensions as the ETA calibres in question.

3 other watches in the library run the IWC 69370.
