In Context

At 41 mm it is sized to the current mainstream: 40 mm is the median across every watch measured in this catalogue. At 11.4 mm thick it is about average for a modern wristwatch. The case back is closed, so the movement stays out of sight, and the sapphire crystal will resist everything short of deliberate abuse. 60 m covers rain and hand-washing comfortably; it is not a watch to swim in.

The movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. 72 hours of reserve puts it well past a weekend — several days off the wrist and it is still going. At 28,800 vph the seconds hand advances 8 times a second.

IW3269-06 is one of 3 executions of the IW3269 base reference. Underneath they are the same watch; what separates this one is a black dial and a titanium, ceramic case.

The IW3269 family

IW3269-06 is one of 3 variants sharing the IW3269 base reference — same watch underneath, different dial, bezel, or bracelet execution. Browse the others:

With the 32000-calibre family, IWC expands its range of automatic in-house movements. For these rugged and reliable movements, and for the first time ever, IWC has used components made of silicon. The escape wheel and pallet lever are made of this incredibly wear-resistant material. A bidirectional pawl-winding system supplies the energy required by the movement. Similarly to a Pellaton automatic winding system, it winds the mainspring when the rotor is moving in either direction. Thanks to advances in movement technology, the 32000-calibre family offers a 72-hour power reserve. In addition, the long service life of the mechanical components has been increased by newly developed lubricants. This entry was previously listed as being based on ETA 2892; after contact with IWC, we have removed this as according to IWC these movements do not have the same parts, same specifications or even same dimensions as the ETA calibres in question. This movement is manufactured by ValFleurier, the movement manufacturer owned by IWC's parent group.

5 other watches in the library run the IWC 32110.
