Jaeger-LeCoultreDuomètre

The Duomètre is Jaeger-LeCoultre's twin-barrel line of 2007. Two independent mainsprings and gear trains, one for the time and one for the complication, share a single escapement. This library holds 29 references, every one hand-wound.

About the Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre

The "Dual-Wing" idea answers a real problem. A chronograph or a calendar draws energy from the same barrel as the balance, and every time it engages, the rate wobbles. Giving the complication its own barrel and train, with the escapement as the only shared part, lets the timekeeping run undisturbed, and a foudroyante seconds hand jumping six times a second on the chronograph shows the precision that buys. Each barrel has its own power reserve indicator on the dial.

The Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire on the 381 is the most common model here at 10 references, the Duomètre à Chronographe on the 380A follows at 6, the Sphérotourbillon of 2012 on the 382 at 5, and the Chronograph Moon of 2024 on the 391 at 2. All run at 28,800 vph with a 50-hour reserve. 8 references are chronographs.

The 42 mm case accounts for 21 references, with a few at 40.5 mm, 42.5 mm and 44 mm. Pink gold is the material of 19 cases, white gold of 6 and platinum of 3; one is steel. Silver dials lead at 21. Water resistance is 50 m, and every reference has a display back. 3 are limited editions, and the rarity median is 7.

The Master Grande Tradition is the maison's other high-complication line, and the glossary covers the mainspring the Duomètre doubles and the tourbillon the Sphérotourbillon spins on two axes.
