In Context

At 44 mm it is a large watch — well above this catalogue’s 40 mm median, and enough to dominate a narrow wrist. The case back is closed, so the movement stays out of sight, and the sapphire crystal will resist everything short of deliberate abuse. 300 m is a professional diving rating, far past any demand a wrist is likely to make of it.

The movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. 72 hours of reserve puts it well past a weekend — several days off the wrist and it is still going. At 28,800 vph the seconds hand advances 8 times a second.

PAM01676 stands on its own in this catalogue — no other reference here shares its base number. It pairs a blue sunburst dial with a ceramic, stainless steel case. Introduced in 2025.

The P.900 is Panerai's slim three-day automatic, the movement behind the 40 mm Quaranta models and the Luminor Due. It powers 91 watches in this library. Panerai's earlier in-house automatics, the P.9000 family, are 7.9 mm high and built for 44 mm and 47 mm cases. The P.900 is 4.2 mm, which is what allows a Panerai at 38 mm and 40 mm to keep the cushion case and the crown bridge without the bulk. It winds in both directions, runs at 28,800 vph with 28 jewels and a 72-hour reserve, and shows a date at 3 o'clock with a small seconds at 9. In the library it sits under 36 [Submersible](/brands/panerai/submersible) references, the QuarantaQuattro 44 of 2022, 35 [Luminor Due](/brands/panerai/luminor-due) references at 38 mm and 42 mm, 10 [Luminor](/brands/panerai/luminor) Marina Quarantas and 10 [Radiomir](/brands/panerai/radiomir) Quarantas at 40 mm. The 42 mm case accounts for 39 references, the 40 mm for 20, the 44 mm for 18 and the 38 mm for 14. Four are limited editions. The [P.9010](/calibers/panerai-p-9010) is the full-size three-day automatic in the 44 mm cases, and the [OP III](/calibers/panerai-op-iii) the Valjoux-based automatic the Luminor ran before Panerai made its own.

90 other watches in the library run the Panerai P.900.
