About the Rolex Cellini

Rolex has made dress watches under the name since the 1960s, and the 2014 relaunch settled them into four models: the Cellini Time, the Cellini Date with its date on a subdial, the Cellini Dual Time with a second time zone and a day-night indicator, and the Cellini Moonphase of 2017, whose moon is a meteorite disc. All were 39 mm in white or Everose gold with 50 m of water resistance, and Rolex retired the line in 2023 in favour of the Perpetual 1908.

The movements are the 3100 family rather than the Chronergy generation: the 3132 of the Time in 14 references, the 3165 of the Date in 10, the 3180 of the Dual Time in 10 and the 3195 of the Moonphase in 1. The 5 rectangular references are the earlier Cellini Prince, hand-wound on the 7040 with a display back, made from 2005 to 2015. 35 of the 40 references are automatic.

White gold is the material of 20 cases and Everose of 19. Black dials lead at 16, silver at 9 and white at 7. The 15 base references branch into families of up to six, led by the 50519 Date and 50525 Dual Time in white gold. 10 references carry the GMT function and one the moon phase. The rarity median is 6, and none are limited editions.

The Perpetual 1908 is the dress watch that replaced the Cellini, and the Day-Date the gold Rolex most often bought in its place.
