In Context

At 40 mm it is sized to the current mainstream: 40 mm is the median across every watch measured in this catalogue. At 9.1 mm thick it is about average for a modern wristwatch. The case back is open, so the movement is visible without taking the watch apart, and the sapphire crystal will resist everything short of deliberate abuse. Rated to 30 m, it is protected against rain and splashes and nothing beyond that.

The movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. 40 hours of reserve carries it overnight, but not through a weekend in a drawer.

2000C/000R-103C is one of 3 executions of the 2000C/000R base reference. Underneath they are the same watch; what separates this one is a multi-color guilloche dial and a pink gold case. It was a limited edition.

The 2000C/000R family

2000C/000R-103C is one of 3 variants sharing the 2000C/000R base reference — same watch underneath, different dial, bezel, or bracelet execution. Browse the others:

Inside: Caliber 1120

Developed and crafted in harmony with Geneva’s most rigorous Fine Watchmaking traditions, caliber 1120 beats at a frequency of 2.75 Hz (19,800 vibrations/hour) and is endowed with an approximately 40-hour power reserve. Both its finishing and its construction testify to a wealth of fine workmanship. Not only are the smooth surfaces of the movement adorned with a meticulously executed “Côtes de Genève” motif, but all their sharp angles are chamfered and then hand-polished. Such is also the case with the screw heads.

11 other watches in the library run the Vacheron Constantin 1120.
