The 2460 G4 is Vacheron Constantin's four-aperture automatic, which leaves the centre of the dial free for the Métiers d'Art decoration. Hours and minutes drag past two windows and the day and date jump in two more. It powers 35 watches in this library. The base is the 2460, the in-house automatic Vacheron Constantin introduced in 2005 with a 22-carat gold rotor, 28,800 vph and a 40-hour reserve. The G4 display puts all four indications on discs at the edge of the dial, two of them dragging continuously and two jumping at midnight, so the centre is uninterrupted by hands and can carry enamel, engraving or marquetry. The movement has 27 jewels and a 31 mm diameter, and every one carries the Hallmark of Geneva. The G4/1 and G4/2 are its variants.
