Caliber 17 ND

About the Breitling Caliber 17 ND

Removing the date does not change the movement's architecture, but it changes the dial: no window, no phantom position on the crown, and a cleaner face for the vintage-styled and smaller models. The base keeps the 2824's 28,800 vph, 38-hour reserve and 25 jewels, at 25.6 mm across, and every one is COSC-certified. ETA or Sellita supply the base depending on the year.

The library finds it in two collections. The Superocean accounts for 60 references, the 36 mm, 42 mm and 44 mm Superocean Automatics of 2019 onward, and the Navitimer for 56, the 35 mm, 36 mm, 38 mm and 41 mm three-hand Navitimers that carry the slide-rule bezel without a chronograph. The 35 mm case is the most common at 34 references, then 36 mm, 42 mm and 44 mm; 20 of the 116 are limited editions.

The Caliber 17 is the same movement with the date, and the Caliber 10 the thinner alternative in the Chronomat 36.
