About the IWC 52615

The 51000 family held its week in one barrel at 21,600 vph; the 52000 stores it in two, which frees the balance to run at 28,800 without shortening the 168 hours. The Pellaton winding system's pawls are ceramic against wear, the rotor carries an 18-carat gold medallion, and Kurt Klaus's perpetual calendar sits on top with its four-digit year and double moon phase, all set from the crown; the movement has 54 jewels at 38.2 mm across. The Pellaton piece explains the generation.

In the library it powers 12 Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar references at 46.2 mm and 46.5 mm and 4 Portugieser Perpetual Calendar Double Moon 5034s at 44.2 mm. 7 are limited editions.

The 51614 is the single-barrel perpetual calendar it replaced, the 52010 the same base with a date alone, and the glossary defines the perpetual calendar.
