About the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept

The Concept takes the Royal Oak's octagon and rebuilds everything inside it: the CW1 of 2002 with its dynamograph, the Carbon Concept of 2008 in forged carbon, the GMT Tourbillon of 2011 with its white ceramic bridges, the Laptimer built with Michael Schumacher, the Supersonnerie of 2016 that redesigned how a minute repeater sounds, and the Black Panther and Spider-Man of 2021 and 2023 with their sculpted dials. The Concept Frosted Gold Flying Tourbillon of 2021 brought the line to 38.5 mm.

Almost every movement here is hand-wound and exposed: 38 of the 44 references, and 37 are recorded with skeleton dials. The 2951 tourbillon chronograph powers 9, the 2941 GMT tourbillon with its ten-day reserve 6, the 2937 Supersonnerie 5, the 2965 of the Black Panther 4, and the automatic 4407 split-seconds GMT chronograph of 2023 3. 35 references carry a tourbillon, 12 a chronograph and 9 a second time zone.

The 44 mm case accounts for 24 references and the 38.5 mm for 12. Titanium with ceramic is the material of 16 cases, white gold of 8 and pink gold of 5, with forged carbon and ceramic combinations behind them. Water resistance runs from 20 m to 100 m. 19 references are limited editions, the median case is 16 mm thick, and the rarity median is 8.

The Royal Oak is the case the Concept experiments on, the Royal Oak Offshore the line that took the first of those experiments into production, and CODE 11.59 shares several of the movements.
