BreitlingAerospace

The Aerospace is Breitling's titanium multifunction watch, made since 1985. Hands show the time and two digital displays show everything else, all set from the crown. This library holds 51 references.

About the Breitling Aerospace

It was designed as a cockpit instrument for the wrist. The lower display carries a chronograph to a hundredth of a second, a countdown timer, an alarm and a second time zone, the upper the date and the day, and turning or pressing the crown cycles through them without pushers. The Aerospace Avantage of the 2000s at 42 mm and the Aerospace Evo of 2013 at 43 mm are the two generations here, and the Evo added a backlight compatible with night-vision goggles.

The Caliber 79 powers 49 of the 51 references. It is a SuperQuartz movement on the ETA E10.451: a thermistor corrects the oscillator for temperature, which holds the watch to a few seconds a year and earns COSC certification. The B70 of the 2021 Aerospace B70 Orbiter, made for the anniversary of the 1999 round-the-world balloon flight, accounts for the other 2.

The 42 mm case accounts for 28 references and the 43 mm Evo for 23. The catalogue records titanium for 26 cases, the material the line is built in, and steel for 16, the older Avantage models with steel or gold accents. Black dials lead at 18, blue at 9, and silver and bronze at 7 each. Water resistance is 100 m throughout. 2 references are limited editions.

The Emergency and Cockpit B50 are the other titanium professional instruments, the Chronospace the steel multifunction beside it, and the Endurance Pro the current SuperQuartz sports watch.
