About the Breitling Emergency

The 1995 Emergency, at 43 mm, transmitted on 121.5 MHz through an antenna unscrewed and pulled from the case, and it was sold to civilians only with a signed undertaking to pay for any rescue it set off. The Emergency II of 2013, at 51 mm, added the 406 MHz satellite frequency of the Cospas-Sarsat system, a rechargeable battery and a second antenna, and became the first wristwatch with a dual-frequency personal locator beacon. Both are SuperQuartz multifunction watches underneath, with a chronograph, alarm, countdown and second time zone on two digital displays, and both are COSC-certified.

The B76 of the Emergency II powers 27 references here and the Caliber 56 of the original 6. The 51 mm case accounts for 27 references and the 43 mm for 6. Titanium is the material of 31 cases; the Night Mission editions blacken it. Black dials lead at 16, with yellow, orange, blue and green behind them. Water resistance is 50 m on the II and 30 m on the original, and the median case is 21.6 mm thick, the thickest of any collection in this library with more than a handful of references. 6 are limited editions.

The Aerospace is the multifunction titanium watch without the beacon, and the Cockpit B50 and Chronospace the other professional SuperQuartz instruments.
