About the Breitling Chronomat 36
It gives the Chronomat a size the chronograph cannot reach, and it borrows the chronograph's face: the rider tabs, the applied indices, the date at 3 o'clock. The Caliber 10 inside is an ETA 2892 finished to chronometer standard, with a 42-hour reserve and 21 jewels, and the 2892 piece explains why the thin base suits a case this size.
Steel is the material of 15 cases, with steel and red gold in 5, steel and white gold in 4, yellow gold in 3 and red gold in 2; 4 references are recorded with mother-of-pearl, the South Sea editions with diamonds. White dials lead at 11, blue at 9 and green at 7. Water resistance is 100 m, every case is 36 mm and 10.1 mm thick, and 9 references are limited editions.
The Chronomat B01 42 is the chronograph the design comes from, the Chronomat 32 the quartz three-hander one size down, and the Chronomat 40 GMT the travel version one size up.
