In Context
At 44 mm it is a large watch — well above this catalogue’s 40 mm median, and enough to dominate a narrow wrist. The case back is closed, so the movement stays out of sight. 200 m puts it in dive-watch territory, well past anything daily wear will ask of it.
The movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. 42 hours of reserve carries it overnight, but not through a weekend in a drawer. At 28,800 vph the seconds hand advances 8 times a second.
A27363A3B823435X stands on its own in this catalogue — no other reference here shares its base number. It pairs a black dial with a stainless steel case.
Inside: Caliber Caliber 27
Explore this caliber →The Caliber 27 is the Skyracer's movement: an ETA 2892-A2 base with a chronograph module on top, whose hours and minutes share one register. It powers 26 watches in this library, every one a Skyracer. The 2892 is the thin automatic the [2892 piece](/blog/the-eta-2892) describes, and the module, a Dubois Dépraz design, adds the chronograph works above it, which is why the movement has 38 jewels against the base's 21. The two-hand totaliser reads the elapsed hours and minutes together on a single subdial, like a small clock, with the running seconds on another. It beats at 28,800 vph with a 42-hour reserve at 25.6 mm across, and it is COSC-certified. In the library it powers all 26 [Skyracer](/brands/breitling/skyracer) references, the Raven editions among them, in 44 mm and 43.5 mm steel cases rated to 200 m. The [Caliber 41](/calibers/breitling-caliber-41) is the other 2892-based Breitling chronograph, with two conventional subdials, and the [Caliber 13](/calibers/breitling-caliber-13) the Valjoux 7750 the rest of the Professional line ran.
25 other watches in the library run the Breitling Caliber 27.
