About the Rolex Submariner

The ref 6204 of 1953 had a rotating bezel, a black dial with large luminous markers and the Oyster case; the 6538 of 1956 added the oversized crown, the 5512 of 1959 the crown guards, and the 1680 of 1969 the date under a Cyclops lens, which split the line into the Submariner and the Submariner Date. The 16800 of 1979 brought a sapphire crystal and a 300 m rating, the 16610 of 1989 the caliber 3135, the 116610 of 2010 the ceramic Cerachrom bezel and the Glidelock clasp, and the 126610 and 124060 of 2020 a 41 mm case and the current movements.

The 3135 powers 39 of the 52 references here, which makes the library a 16610-generation collection: the two-tone 16613 is the largest family at 9, the 16610LV Kermit of the fiftieth anniversary follows at 7 with the yellow gold 16618, and the 16610 itself at 5. The 3235 of the 126610 sits in 7 references and the no-date 3130 and 3230 in 4; the 3135-to-3235 piece explains the change between the generations.

The 40 mm case accounts for 43 references and the 41 mm for 8. Steel is the material of 20 cases, yellow Rolesor of 14, yellow gold of 12 and white gold of 5. Black dials lead at 34 and blue at 14. Water resistance is 300 m, and every case has a closed back. The rarity median is 2, and 2 references are limited editions.
