3135

About the Rolex 3135

It is 28.5 mm across and 6 mm high with 31 jewels, a 48-hour reserve and a beat of 28,800 vph, and its full balance bridge, anchored on both sides, is the reason it is regarded as the most robust Rolex movement of its era. The blue Parachrom hairspring, a niobium-zirconium alloy insensitive to magnetism, arrived in the mid-2000s. Every one is a COSC chronometer. The 3235 succeeded it from 2015, and the 3135-to-3235 piece sets out what the new generation changed and what it kept.

In the library it powers 351 Datejust 36 references, the six-digit 116xxx generation, 39 Submariners, the 16610 and 116610 generations, 14 of the 34 mm Date, 10 Sea-Dwellers and 7 Yacht-Masters. Cases run from 34 mm to 44 mm, with 36 mm at 351 references and 40 mm at 54.

The 3130 is the same movement without the date, the 3155 the Day-Date version, and the 3186 the GMT derivative.
