About the Rolex Yacht-Master

It has spent three decades trying new materials on a familiar case. Rolesium, platinum bezel and dial on a steel case, arrived in 1999; the Everose Yacht-Master of 2015 introduced the Oysterflex bracelet, rubber over a metal blade, and the black Cerachrom bezel; the 42 mm white gold of 2019 and the titanium RLX of 2022 followed. The Yacht-Master II of 2007 is a different watch under the same name, a 44 mm regatta chronograph with a programmable countdown set through the bezel, on the 4161.

The three-hand models run the Datejust's movements: the 3235 in 10 references, the 3135 in 7, the 2236 in the 37 mm in 5 and the 2235 in the older 35 mm and 29 mm in 3. The 4161 accounts for the 8 Yacht-Master IIs.

The 40 mm case accounts for 13 references, the 44 mm for 8, the 37 mm for 5 and the 42 mm for 4. The materials are the collection's story: Everose Rolesor in 7, Rolesium in 4, Everose with the ceramic bezel in 4, yellow Rolesor in 3, and yellow gold, white gold and platinum behind them. Black and white dials lead, at 11 and 10. The 20 base references branch into small families, the Rolesium 116622 the largest. Water resistance is 100 m, and none are limited editions.

The Submariner is the diver the Yacht-Master's case comes from, the Daytona the other Rolex on the Oysterflex, and the glossary defines the bezel the two watches use differently.
