The case back is closed, so the movement stays out of sight, and the sapphire crystal will resist everything short of deliberate abuse. 150 m is genuine swimming resistance — more than the shape of this watch suggests it would need.

47040/000a-9008 stands on its own in this catalogue — no other reference here shares its base number. It pairs a blue guilloche dial with a stainless steel case. It was a limited edition. Introduced in 2015.

An automatic built on the Jaeger-LeCoultre 889, the ébauche behind a number of Vacheron Constantin calibres of the period, and fitted to the earlier Overseas. Vacheron finished and regulated the base rather than using it as delivered. It predates the in-house 5100 that later took the collection over, and the SC suffix marks the central-seconds execution.
