The Reverso's rectangular case needs a rectangular movement, and Jaeger-LeCoultre has made its own for the watch since 1931; the 846 family is the ladies' size of that tradition.

The 822 is the men's hand-wound Reverso movement, the 844 the version that drives two dials for the Duetto, and the 657 the quartz alternative in the same cases.
