RolexLady-Datejust

The Lady-Datejust is the smallest Datejust, introduced in 1957 at 26 mm and enlarged to 28 mm in 2015. This library holds 428 references, 401 of them in the current 28 mm case.

About the Rolex Lady-Datejust

It carries everything the 36 mm has, at scale: the Oyster case rated to 100 m, the date under its Cyclops lens, the fluted or domed bezel, and the choice of Jubilee, Oyster or President bracelets. The 2015 change was a movement change as much as a size change. The caliber 2236 with its silicon Syloxi hairspring replaced the 2235; the 2236 powers 399 of the watches here and the 2235 the remaining 29, which are the older 26 mm references.

Materials lean toward gold more than any other Datejust size. Everose, Rolex's own pink gold alloy, is the single largest group at 84 solid-gold references and another 83 in Everose Rolesor with steel. Yellow gold follows in both forms, then white Rolesor, and 23 references are platinum, which Rolex reserves for its Pearlmaster and President models. Pink is the most common dial colour at 96 references, ahead of silver, white, brown, champagne and purple.

The 32 base references are small in number and large in family. The 279178, 279175, 279171 and 279161, all 28 mm current-generation references, each hold 28 to 32 dial-and-bezel variants, so most of the collection is one of a handful of watches in many configurations.

One size up is the Datejust 31, two sizes up the Datejust 36. The Pearlmaster is the gem-set derivative with the same movement, and the Oyster Perpetual 28 is the same case without the date.
