Caliber 77

About the Breitling Caliber 77

SuperQuartz is Breitling's name for thermocompensated quartz: a thermistor reads the temperature of the movement and the rate is corrected digitally, which holds the movement to a few seconds a year and earns it COSC chronometer certification. The Caliber 77 is the three-hand-and-date version at 25.6 mm with 7 jewels, and it is what makes a Breitling possible at 32 mm and 33 mm without a mechanical movement the case could not hold.

In the library it sits under 77 Colt references, almost all the Colt 33 and Colt Lady, 23 Chronomat 32 references, 11 Navitimers in the 32 mm and 35 mm ladies' sizes, 8 Super Chronomats and 3 Premiers. The 33 mm case accounts for 72 references and the 32 mm for 37.

The B71 is the equivalent movement in the Galactic, and the B74 the larger SuperQuartz three-hander in the Colt 44.
