BreitlingColt

The Colt was Breitling's entry line for three decades, launched in the 1980s for military buyers and retired in 2019. This library holds 162 references, 124 of them quartz.

About the Breitling Colt

Its brief was a Breitling at the lowest price the brand would put its name to: a steel case, a unidirectional bezel with rider tabs, a screw-down crown and 200 m or more of water resistance, without the chronograph or the in-house movement. The last generation, the Colt 33, Colt 41, Colt 44 and Colt Chronograph of 2014 onward, is what the library mostly holds, along with the 2017 Colt Skyracer in Breitlight, the polymer case that weighs a fraction of steel.

The quartz movements are the thermocompensated SuperQuartz calibers rather than ordinary ones, accurate to a few seconds a year. The Caliber 77 of the Colt 33 is the most common at 77 references, the B74 of the Colt 44 and Skyracer follows at 32, and the B73 chronograph at 15. The automatics run the Caliber 17 in 28 references and the Caliber 13 chronograph in 7.

The 33 mm case accounts for 72 references and the 44 mm for 46, with the 41.1 mm automatic at 19. Steel is the material for 159 of the 162 cases. Water resistance is 200 m on 117 references and 500 m on 33, ratings that exceed most of the divers it undercut. Black, blue, white and silver dials are spread evenly. None of the references are limited editions, and none have a display back, which is consistent with a line built to be the plain one.

The Galactic was the polished counterpart of the same years, the Superocean the diver above it, and the Endurance Pro inherited the Breitlight case and the SuperQuartz role.
