Caliber 13

About the Breitling Caliber 13

The 7750 is the most-produced automatic chronograph ever made, and the 7750 piece covers its design: a cam and lever in place of a column wheel, a horizontal clutch, and a layout that puts the counters at 6, 9 and 12 o'clock. Breitling's version keeps all of that, adds a date and on some versions a day, and is certified by the COSC. It runs at 28,800 vph with a 42-hour reserve and 25 jewels, and ETA or Sellita supply the base depending on the year. Its thickness, 7.9 mm, is why the watches around it are thick too.

In the library it is chiefly an Avenger movement: 160 of the 349 references are Avengers, including the 48 mm Super Avenger, which is why 48 mm is the most common case size at 70 references. The Galactic chronograph accounts for 32, the Navitimer for 31, the Chronomat Evolution for 28, the Superocean for 27 and the Superocean Heritage for 22.

The Caliber 23 and Caliber 21 are the 7753 and 7751 variants of the same family, and the B01 is the column-wheel movement that replaced it.
