BreitlingPremier

The Premier is Breitling's dress chronograph, a name from 1943 revived in 2018 as the elegant counterpart to the Navitimer and Chronomat. This library holds 140 references, 67 of them on the in-house B01.

About the Breitling Premier

Willy Breitling introduced the Premier in the 1940s as the brand's answer to the growing civilian market for chronographs, with a slim case, applied numerals and a tachymeter kept to the dial. The 2018 relaunch under Georges Kern brought the name back on a 42 mm chronograph and 40 mm three-handers, and the 2021 Premier Heritage series added hand-wound movements: the B09 chronograph, the B15 Duograph split-seconds and the B25 Datora with a full calendar and moon phase. The Norton and Bentley editions carried the motoring associations.

The B01 powers the Premier B01 Chronograph 42 and its 67 references; the Caliber 13 drives the 7750-based Premier Chronograph 42 in 12 more. The three-hand Premier Automatic 40 runs the Caliber 37 in 17 references, and the Day & Date the Caliber 45 in 14. The hand-wound B09, B15 and the automatic B25 of the Heritage series account for 11, and the B21 chronograph tourbillon for another 11. 96 of the 140 references are chronographs.

The 42 mm case accounts for 96 references and the 40 mm for 37, with a few vintage 32 mm and 36 mm watches from the 1940s. Steel is the material for 115 cases and red gold for 21. Blue dials lead at 36, then black, silver and grey. Water resistance is 100 m throughout, and 90 references have a display back. 22 are limited editions.

The Transocean was its predecessor in the elegant role, the Navitimer the pilot's chronograph on the same B01, and the Top Time the 1960s-styled alternative.
