About the Patek Philippe Nautilus

The ref 3700/1A "Jumbo" was 42 mm and steel, priced like gold, and built on the ultra-thin Jaeger-LeCoultre 920 base as the caliber 28-255. The 3800 of 1980 shrank it to 37.5 mm, and the 5711/1A of 2006, at 40 mm on the 324 S C, became the watch the collection is known for; it was discontinued in 2021 and succeeded by the 41 mm 5811 in white gold. Around it Patek built the 5712 with its moon phase and power reserve, the 5980 chronograph of 2006, the 5726 annual calendar, the 5990 Travel Time chronograph and the 7118 ladies' automatic.

Those references are the library's count. The 324 S C powers 31, the 5711 and the 7118; its successor the 26-330 S C 12; the 240 PS IRM C LU of the 5712 9; the CH 28-520 C of the 5980 and its Travel Time version of the 5990 14; and the quartz E23-250 S C of the 32 mm 7010 13. The 240 piece explains the micro-rotor under the 5712. 82 of the 95 references are automatic.

The 40 mm case accounts for 36 references, the 40.5 mm chronographs for 20, the 35.2 mm 7118 for 15 and the 32 mm quartz for 13. White gold is the material of 29 cases, steel of 28 and rose gold of 25, with 6 in platinum. Blue dials lead at 25 and grey at 20. Water resistance is 120 m on the men's models and 60 m on the 7118. The 69 base references group into small families, the 5711/1A the largest at 5, and the rarity median is 2. The median case thickness is 8.6 mm.

The Aquanaut is the 1997 derivative on a rubber strap, the Royal Oak the Genta design it followed by four years, and the Calatrava the dress line that shares its movements.
