About the Vacheron Constantin Historiques

The American 1921, a cushion case with its dial turned so a driver could read it with hands on the wheel, is the best known, and its 40 mm and 36.5 mm versions on the hand-wound 4400 AS account for the largest group here. The Cornes de Vache 1955, a chronograph with cow-horn lugs, runs the 1142, which the Lemania piece traces back to the 2310; the Triple Calendrier 1942 and 1948 carry a full calendar on the 4400 QC and 4400 QCL; the Ultra-fine 1955 runs the 1.64 mm 1003; the Chronomètre Royal 1907 is a chronometer on the 2460 SCC; and the 222 of 2022 reproduces the 1977 sports watch on the 2455/2. 18 references are hand-wound and 6 automatic.

The 40 mm case accounts for 9 references and the 38.5 mm for 4, and the shapes divide into 12 round, 7 cushion and 2 tonneau. Pink gold is the material of 11 cases, steel of 5, and yellow gold and platinum of 3 each. Silver dials account for 19 of the 24. Water resistance is 30 m on 22 references, the median case is 8 mm thick, and 22 have a display back. 5 are limited editions.

The Patrimony and Traditionnelle are the current lines the archive designs inform, and the Overseas is the modern descendant of the 222.
